In June and July, Neighbor2Neighbor (N2N) volunteers took turns manning our own station at the Village Alliance’s Positively 8th Street fairs. We had more than three dozen neighbors stop by, ask questions, and sign up for this newsletter. Welcome to each and every one of you!
How does one become a participant in N2N? Three words: Just show up!
Neighbor2Neighbor is entering its 5th year as an organization. We are a grass-roots, all-volunteer organization “dedicated to supporting seniors in their effort to age with dignity in their own homes and neighborhood.” We consider the central village as our “area” with University Place as our geographical anchor. We run a lecture series from September to June, ongoing social groups that meet almost every moth, an “N4N” peer-to-peer volunteer health network, and we are developing resources on our Resource page as a one-stop area to search for services and outlets for your interests.
**Our lecture series will begin on Thursday, September 27 at the Jefferson Market Library with a presentation by photographers and authors James & Karla Murray (click here for more information). Watch for future newsletters to stay on top of our activities. Please drop by to one of our events, and browse our site!
So sorry I missed the N2N events in July. Look forward to catching up in September—at least I hope so.
The August Newsletter will be out soon, Shirley! Glad you are watching this space.
enjoy the newsletter. Miss many events because I have a standing engagement on Wednesday evening. Hope to come at some point
Thank you, Susan!
I attended the meeting on estate planning in May and found it clear and useful. I look forward to future meetings and other events!
Also, I signed up for the help-your-neighbor team but have been away during summer: I will be happy to get called on from now on. Meredith Mayer
Thank you for that feedback, Meredith. I hope we’ll see you this fall.
