In late May, five N2N members of our Diners’ Club explored the culinary specialities at Osteria57.
The ambiance at Osteria57 is distinctly rustic Italian, with warm mottled gray/brown walls reminiscent of ancient Italy. In a long narrow townhouse, a few steps below ground, the owner, a lifelong vegetarian, serves variations on classic Italian seafood and pasta. Dishes are presented in attractive wide shallow white bowls. An outstanding entree was the turmeric-seasoned risotto, with mussels and octopus. The branzino is also recommended.
Osteria 57 opened late last year. The owner said he’s still working out the kinks.
Noise level on a Thursday evening was acceptable.
Service is friendly without being intrusive.
Our N2N diners agreed that we would recommend Osteria57.
