On June 28, the N2N Diner’s Club had the pleasure of sharing several Austrian dishes at Freud, prepared by the Michelin–starred chef, Eduard Frauneder. Freud is located at 506 LaGuardia place, in the heart of the village. As always, we shared everything.
The chicken liver mousse was delicious, very creamy with a sweet yet tangy flavor. We also enjoyed the burrata, white and green asparagus vinaigrette. The asparagus were tender, perfectly done and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, served crispy with a curry mustard vinaigrette. The roasted carrots were also a favorite, served with Calabrian chili butter and Austrian yogurt.
The décor is old country, the ambiance lovely. We spent several leisurely uninterrupted hours, sipping prosecco. It was a pleasurable experience on all counts.
